Is anyone else struggling to get into the tournament due to the lack of UK involvement :scratchhead:

Being Scottish, I was starting to get used to Scotland getting to the finals of major tournaments being a distant childhood memory. At least living in England, I could go to the pub with my mates and watch England instead, and I suppose I'm a bit different to most of my fellow countrymen in that I would support them too - well, it's no fun being the only one in the pub who doesn't want them to win, is it?

So whilst I did have a little chuckle last November when England never got through, now I'm bored of a summer with no footie to watch. Yes, you could go to the pub and support someone else, but it just isn't the same. I was reading in Nuts or something a couple of weeks ago how much they reckon it has cost the economy when you add everything together, and it was hundreds of millions. McLaren, what a tool :poke:

Hi. I am a canadian currently on a business trip in Milan, Italy. It's already madness in Montreal when Italy plays but here right now I don't have a word to describe the sheer mood swing that engulfed the italians between the first game (that they lost to the Low Countries) and now. The streets are deserted and there's a collective sickness to their stomach. I cannot watch soccer for more than 15 minutes without wanting to throw myself out the window, it's simply not my cup of tea. Italians look at me like I'm from another planet. Now ice hockey that's a real sport.

On unrelated topic, Northern Italy is fantastic Z4 country. Small twised roads close to the Alps. Sadly I am stuck with a rental VW Passat.

I hope France beats Italy Tuesday. :poke:

Yeah... that's one thing I must say I do look forward to every couple of years, summertime footy... Always seems to somehow chill everyone out and get a bit of atmosphere going. Oh well, 2 yrs to go til the World Cup.

What are you worried about? The Dutch are in, so who cares

Aebous, :D

pvr, what a win for the Dutch, 9 points from 9 is a great result. You'll be playing Sweden or Russia next.

I fancy the dutch for this, along with Spain the great under achievors
Well, you were right with one of your choices here. TBH didn't really watch all the game, but Spain were worthy winners by all accounts.

Was having a look at the German statistics earlier, their record in international footie is amazing - 10 World Cup semi-finals, 7 finals, 3 wins and in the Euro it's 7 semi-finals, 6 finals, 3 wins.

No wonder everyone hates them so much  :D
