All in, or all out, nothing in-between, and at the moment I'm leaning towards all-out!

I've gone for a renegotiation option, but I am struggling to see how we will persuade the other 27 nations to agree with our demands!

The reason I didn't go for that was I assume we'll be assured (by our government) that the deal went in our favour when all the figures show the opposite.

Yes - the Spin Doctoring will be in overdrive because the terms of the renegotiation will be completed before the referendum is held.

Ditto. We'd never get a deal to be happy with. Might as well bite the bullet and just leave.

I have been thinking about this very topic over the last few year, at first I was pretty apprehensive on the thought of leaving the EU and the damage leaving might do to our economy. More recently I have started to examine the reasons for this and am now leaning towards leaving may well be preferred.

Germany is taking over Europe, they get stronger and the rest of us are getting weaker, the Euro does not work when one member state is so successful that it becomes self perpetuating because there is no mechanism to dampen growth as per the norm of an individual country's inflation tendency

..........what she said

I fear its too tangled a web to be of any constructive use as a system.
Voted out but would have voted amend if I felt anything worthwhile would happen.

This article is quite enlightening.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/datablog/2012/nov/22/eu-budget-spending-contributions-european-union

The net cost of the EU to is approaching £6bn per year. We are a net contributor (as are Germany, France, Italy, Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, Sweden).

Interested to know what some of the Forum members from other EU countries think about the UK possibly having a vote on whether to stay in or not?

I'm also interested to see if the Cyprus crisis has influenced anyone in their choice?

It’s interesting living in Germany now, as the locals don’t want anything to do with the Euro either. it seems they are driven Politically by their overtly Pc stance in regards to the historical events of the 1930-1940s

As a country that is supposed to be doing so well, I’m sure if you asked any employee if he was re-numerated for his overtime and multi job lifestyle, he would probably just laugh in your face.

I love the country, but am disappointed in the manner of which the country is ruled /controlled as a whole, more of a voted in dictatorship rather than a democratic rule.
huge gap between those that have and those that don’t, very limited wage expectations, coupled with a stepped system of tax bands that often succeeds in rewarding a few hours overtime a month with less net pay at the end of the month.
But on the upside I drove to work this morning doing 240kph on the motorway ( with an Audi 2 meters from my bumper as always) and the Ring is still in operation so life can’t all be that bad

 Now that I would vote for :)

relieved to see I am not out of touch with Forum and common sense

Don't see Switzerland struggling :o

So far the Forum has overwhelmingly voted to leave the EU.

I look forward with interest to the next few years and the run-up to a referendum. I wonder if Labour end up having to backtrack and include a pledge to hold a referendum in their manifesto and how UKIP will do at the General Election?

Two days left to vote folks.
