Etched paint

Hi all-the hottest day of the year so far and i get bird sh1t on the top of the boot,removed it but it has already etched the laquer :headbang: -i have done a search but can this mark be improved by hand and a certain product?,as i dont own a polisher-thanks
 
Not really helpful Andy, but used some fine cutting polish on one last year (with a DA polisher) finished with glaze and wax, and all worked fine. So it is recoverable.

Never used it myself, heard that it works on faint scratches, so would assume that it works on bird lime etchings.... just remember to follow up with a polish, glaze and wax :thumbsup:
 
Had the same problem on our black car, used megs scratch x & other rubbing compounds with out success. Had you take it to local bodyshop & he wet sanded it & used a rotary on it. Now invisable. :thumbsup:
