ET35 or ET40

Im still debating on which offset to go for on BBS LM 19 rims on a z4 3.0i, would the et40 be closer to standard and sit within the arches without rubbing on a 30 mm drop or would the et35 be better suitted.I know its been covered but i cant sleep untill i know lol.
 
I'm currently running ET25+ on the rears and ET30+ on the fronts. I'm assuming since you have an 'exact' drop difference you are going to be running springs. On my rears it sticks out of the arches with the stock springs, but when I got my coils and added some camber it made it flush. I don't know your personal taste so I couldn't really say. However, if you are going to run springs I'd say go with the closest offset to stock (ET40+) since you can't adjust the stiffness.
 
I had 19s' on mine, 8.5" front, 9.5" rears, and 35 offset all round, with a 30mm drop on Eibachs and no rubbing.
Filled the arches better and did not stick out. :driving:
 
I might have a good deal on 19" 8.5J ET35 front and 9.5J ET40 rear
Dunno about the tires yet (unfortunately currently RFT's)

I tried to understand what the "ET" is all about but still can't find a good explanation...
So my question is pretty obvious: would these fit my 2.2i ? What I have read so far, they should be a perfect fit without coming out of the arches? :?

Some explanation on the ET-stuff would be a great bonus :D

For the offset it seems to be the same as my 108s which should be 8,0J ET47 front and 8,5J ET50 rear (correct me if I am wrong)
But this way I still don't know if it will pass my arches or not? Or did I miss something? :?

The offset calculator can't tell you if it will foul arches or not as it doesn't know any information about your arches.

However, if you know you've got 10mm of space then an offset of 10mm greater will likely hit the arch.

It's up to you to measure your clearances.

However the figure you've got look about right, as if you go for a 25mm/1" wider wheel then the offset would need to change by about 1/2 of that to keep the wheel centre-line the same.

that will be fine.

As above My 19's are the same width as yours slightly less aggressive offset and fit the arches perfectly.

I suppose there is also no difference between a 3.0 and a 2.2 on that part? As far as I know, it's only the M which is different...
Thanks for the feedback guys... feel much more confident now ;-)

Just one last question... I have 15mm spacers in the front and 20 mm spacers in the back in combo with my 108s. So if I understand correctly, this would be more or less the same as going from 8,0J with 15mm spacers to 8,5J without spacers? Same as going from 8,5J with 20mm spacers to 9,5J without spacers (rear)?

Or to make a long question short: can I use the same bolts...?

No, as the offset doesn't relate to the thickness of the centre of the wheel, just the amount it is 'offset' from centre!
