ET question

Still struggling with ET even after reading lots of threads. I've found out what would work for 19s but now I'm looking at 18s and can't find much with rear ET35 on the 8.5 on the rear.

Options are:

* Front - 18 x 8 ET34 & Rear - 18 x 8.5 ET37
* Front - 18 x 8.ET34 & Rear - 18 x 8.5 ET35

I'm guessing with standard springs both options would clear on my 2007 3.0si Sport and the second option would have the rears sticking out further?

I'm also sure first option would be okay with eibach or H&R but would the second (with ER35 on the rear)?

I seriously doubt the difference on the rears between et 35 & et 37 would have any effect on looks,handling or fouling of arches / suspension
Jmo but i think its the fronts that would be most likely to cause rubbing on arch liners with lowered springs :? may have to try 215 40 tyre if they do

Those dimensions will clear all options. No problem at all. Just use 225/40 in front.
I have 225/35-19 on 8,5" ET34 in front and lowered with H&R springs on M-Tech shocks. No problems. I had problems with 235/35.
I even use this setup on the track. No rubbing.

I use this to work out inside/outside gains/losses etc

Im looking at a set of wheels on the bay with

8jx18 et 34 with 225/40/18 front
8.5j x 18 et 37 with 255/35/18 rear

Would these fit a z4mc ok ??

Fronts will be fine but rears would need some spacers to fill the arches & sit right . Your OEM 224 rears are 9j et 30 so effectively you would need 15/20mm spacers to retain similar stance :wink:

Thanks for reply. Any idea what the ride would be like in comparison to current setup on 225/45/18 and 255/45/18 conti non run flats ( the new set is on Pss)? Quite like it tthe way itis now so wouldnt want anything too different

Personally i wouldn't drop from M spec sizes but other than arch gap expanding & possibly harsher ride over the bumps i doubt you would be any worse off
