..their point was that our cars are already incredibly quick & adding 100bhp doesn't make such a huge difference. ....
Sorry don't really get that - 100HP is like 30% more power.. My exhaust kit probably gave me 3-5HP and that felt brilliant :driving: so 100HP should be F****n quick shouldn't it. Or are you viewing it from an incremental cost perspective??

Pretty much, factor in fitting for vt1 of about £1500 and you're spending £6k+ including the vat on the blower, & if you have vt2 for maybe £2k more there's a fitting overlap.

Obviously they're upselling me, & I take your point, my exhausts felt brilliant for the first week or so.. but I guess it's a lot of money, whereas the vt2 makes it kind of insane.

I see that as upselling... VT1 is... lets say £6.5k all in. For the VT2, £2k more would push me closer to £10k (rounding i know) which is >50% the car's value just my gut feel..

It's something like a £500 fitting overlap tho, so it's not much extra to go for in one foul swoop, assume shared carriage from the US too. In my head I had it as 450bhp for £6.5k, 550bhp for £8k.

& then there's the insurance...

VT1 is more than enough for this application, after alot of hard driving power does drop due to heat soak.......
vt2 is consistant power and top end performance every single drive, when its cool outside good god........ hold on!!

if i did it all again??? id start with vt1 definatly, do a year then upgrade to vt2. That was a great way to learn the kit and the car.....................

Good stuff!!! Would love to see this thing go! - Would be great to see this thing around Oulton Park or Cadwell.

thanks :-) id really love to get to cadwell but with the little one now i struggle to get out the house to go to work, lol!! i will definatly get to some different venues asap..... curborough is really special to me and soooo challenging

after yesterday i can definatly say the seats have got to go..... they offer no support at all really compared to the little caterham seats, also i want to move to a proper road legal slick, so im thinking 888s or Cups, my much michlines simply couldnt cope when they got hot, by three laps in a third session they were sweating and breaking up, then again i went a good way in taking about 6-8000k miles off their overall life yesterday... lol

hows your car going and are you modding up or keeping stock??

I tend to agree with you on the seats, they're not too clever when chucking the car about. But for my 6 mile daily commute, of which i'm rarely above 40mph they'll do.

Std for me, it's in the bodyshop just now. Just a freshen up! :) Stay tuned for pics!
