ESS Supercharger differences

Machine monkey said:
Yes it has a different ECU as like the 330 - z4 different pin outs on the ECU and probably different internals. But SCS sell the kit with a connecting loom and a base map. It is just as simple as plug in and go. I have had many long chats with Matthew Payne he is a great guy and know his stuff.

It doesn’t work with your ECU it’s instead of. And they have spent a long time developing their product so it works with all the other car systems over the can bus network. Call them up. Mention me Mat (with the blue z4) there was a z4mc waiting to be picked up (when i dropped my car off Sunday) that’s already had one fitted.

Thank you for the answer. If I decide to go this way I will definitely give them a call.

How are you?
Lets go for a spin tonight with my VT2-525.
I am sure it will clear out your mind as you are going to immediately place the order.

If I were you, I would buy the kit new, as will include the ecu tune and all the proper support from ESS.

Attached below 100-200Km/hr results with 10Hz GPS. The test was done with 2% down hill

You are bad influence my friend. Our last ride is going to cost me 7000 euro at least  It is the whole setup and how smooth it runs and how OEM-look is this kit.

I just got home after work, but hopefully if you can too I would be glad to go for a ride during the weekend.

The 100-200 is good, but now tell me what is your 0-100? I believe this will be jaw dropping :D

if those figures are accurate its actually mind bending...... i suppose given the weight of the car its very plausible but according to the list of times for the 100-200.... your beating some serious supercars.

Hey Beedub!!! How are you mate? I was very busy the last months with my new born baby boy!!! But now I am back to business :driving:
I know that it seems too good to be true, but car performes really well.
As you are aware it has been dynod at 476whp and weights 1440kg.
This is a very good combination with the 3.91diff.

I was very skeptical at the begining with the results, thats why I bought a 10Hz GPS to be used with Harris Lap time software.
It should have a 0.1sec accuracy........ I can share with you guys the vbo file if somebody whats to verify this!!!

100-200 in 7.16sec is insanely fast, even with the 2% downhill.

What android app did you use for that? I have a 10hz bluetooth gps but not a good android app.
In the good old nokia/symbian days there was an app called racechrono that had nice performance logging features but now I cant find a decent one that gets all the data from the bluetooth gps.

I have been privileged to have a ride with Nikitas car. His car is veryyy fast but for me the most impressive is the how smooth it drives, how OEM it connects with the car, logical fuel consumption. All those things makes you wonder..

definitely doesnt make me wonder, get to experience this luckily with my own car.... its insane how well it all works together, the blower compliments the engine and character so well its freaky... its like it came from the factory like this.

Totally agree with you mate.
It should come from the factory like that!
Blower doesn't change at all the character of the engine. Its just adding more power through out the whole rpm band.
Its pure magic!
I have been racing the car with corvettes, M4, M5 etc, its simply a beast!!

Interesting news regarding the SCS Delta on a Z4M, that would actually sway me towards a CSL airbox as I wouldn't have to run a crappy alpha-n map...

Also great for a supercharger conversion as could get the car live mapped in the UK without having to rely on a generic tune.

You get a CSL air box, you /WILL/ be running an Alpha N map.

But that's exactly his point, hopefully with this ecu you would be able to run a map sensor and then not have to use alpha-n like we do at the moment.
No one uses alpha-n any more on e46 with csl box as the far better way of tuning is with the map sensor as used in the CSL. It would seem it's not possible to run this map sensor with our ecu, well at least I have heard of no-one doing so.
Alpha-n is just a bodge really, that said it works very well on my car and I'm happy enough with it. Keen to hear of anyone using this ecu though..

Hope this turns out Tom, there was a French guy over at the other side pedalling a new ECU as well, but has gone awfully quiet since then. Still, looking at these pics.. shows the CSL MAP sensor in the 3rd picture.. how would this work/cut into the ECU?
http://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/showthread.php?t=181560

Hmm.. just did a bit of research into this new ECU... they are talking 1000 to 2000 UK pounds for ECU/setup/parts/loom.. man, thats a lot of cash for a slight improvement on Alpha N tunes.. (obviously tunes vary) bloody expensive..

i guess it all depends on what you wanna do with your car. if you wanna inch every little bit of performance out of it for track days, then sure, or you could just bite the bullet and grab a GT3RS, as they will come screaming by you, no mater what mods you have on your z4m. Frustrating , i know, been there many many times.. and i get out of my car soaking wet, old mate gets out of his GT3RS like he's been for a sunday stroll through the park..

its not an apple and oranges game.

this just makes the CSL intake an even worse bet as including the ECU your now way over SC territory, which .. again.. gives much, much better better return for dollar/HP.

I think the e46 M3 guys are possibly going for this ECU as they have the lockout function on stock, which we don't.
