Did that thing reach 40mph in 1st gear? Dayuuuummmm!

don't think the supercharger had anything to do with this though. top speed in the lower gears are fixed by your gear ratios and max engine rpm.

louis, good point. I saw the RMPs go well into the red, guess if I ever got the balls to start my car in that kickdown mode (where the rev limiter is turned off) I could probably run it up to 7500 and make 40mph in 1st gear also.

i'm not familiar with this "kick down mode". could you tell me a little more?

Sorry, I used the wrong term, sp3ctre. What I should have said is Acceleration assistant with SMG.

Here's what it says in my manual on page 42:
_______________________________________________
The acceleration assistant permits optimum racing-style acceleration on skid-resistant roads.

Warning: Do not use the acceleration assistant too often, as this could cause the vehicle's parts to wear prematurely.

1. Activiate Driving Dymamic Control
2. Press the DTC button, refer to page 51, for more than three seconds
3. Depress the accelerator all the way down rapidly: kickdown. The optimum rpm for driving off will be adjusted.

Note: To maintain vehicle stability, drive with the DSC switched on whenever possible.
_________________________________________

I have never done this so I don't know if it inhibits the RPM limiter or not.

[edit] I guess I don't even have SMG so this wouldn't work with my car anyway.

guys every time i see these videos i notice on the RPM gauge there is a yellow light is this the DTC off ?!! if it is then why they do that ?!!

I wonder if turning off the DTC also turns off the RPM limiter??? Must go try this...

No it doesn't. My shop/coworkers convinced me to do a burnout on my z4. I turned everything off. Sport mode on, dumped the clutch from about 6 grand (hated to do it) well anyways didn't shift to second quick enough and when the tach got to about 6500 rpm it limited itself. Fun though! But I won't keep doing it, I like my tires....

On a funny note, one of the guys at the shop called his SP (security police) buddy and had him come to the shop and pretend to arrest me for reckless driving. I was uhm rather scared. They got me hook line and sinker with that one.

I have the ESS Twin Screw Stage 2 kit :P :P :P :P :P

I can assure you it is truely awesome. Noticiably quicker than a Z4M due to the massive amount of torque 440NM. It also has no problems putting this down, even without a LSD... well as long as it's dry :)

As for 40mph in 1st, I am not sure, will check next time i driving, I suspect it's more like 35mph. My car revs to between 7000rpm - 7100rpm with the remapped software.

DTC is designed to imitate and compensate for the lack of a LSD. The main problem is that is too harsh and intrusive. If you've fitted an LSD there's no point having the electronics fighting it. Sometimes it's nice to just light up the rear tyres anyway!

Am I wrong or didn't that speedometer show km/h?
Also I did count the seconds and 0 - 100 km/h was about 5.5 seconds. Look again
