Error P1554

I got this error on my 2006 e86 3.0si and cleared it.
Now, a couple of days later it is back.
The car doesn't drive any different than before.

What is that error and how can I fix it?
Some say it has something to do with the solenoids, some say it is vanos related.
 
Ok hooked up inpa to the car and found the below:

Does that mean the intake one is acting up? 2A82 - inlet-VANOS?
Or the exhaust one too because the 2A99 says outlet?
 
Inlet and outlet crankshaft? Do they mean camshaft?

I might be old and set in my ways but I've not come across an engine with two crankshafts before, let alone an inlet and outlet one...

Anyway, that looks like you need the VANOS servicing. I've not done that job, but others have and it looks like it's something you can do yourself.
 
2A82 I'm guessing is the intake solenoid valve (the top one) so I will try to swap it with the exhaust valve (bottom one) and see if the error follows it.
At least that way I'll know if one or both needs replacing.
