Error code 5DAO

Hi, I've had the ABS/ traction control lights appear and carly gave the error 5DA0 (see attached). I replaced the front right sensor but carly is still telling me the front right is defective. I'm going to replace the left rear but before I order the part i want your thoughts on whether this could be a pump problem, though I think that is a different error code. It's just strange two sensors have gone at the same time.

I use Carly, BUT, I also use my Delphi system as 99% of "cheaper" scanners are atrocious when it comes to giving the correct side when there's a code issue; always assume that rear right could also be rear left. Additionally, unless you're replacing the sensor with a genuine BMW part, assume that could be your problem too.

Thanks for the response. Yes, Carly is pretty crap really, good for coding and basic fault diagnosis but I think it might be time to upgrade.

Euro car parts only sell one type of rear ABS sensor which is a Pagid?? I will probably get one tomorrow and fit the weekend, fingers crossed the bolt doesn't snap like the front did!!

Rear Left also drives the speedo on an e85 so when it goes out so does your speed.
The aftermarket ABS sensors I bought were slightly longer and rubbed on the ABS ring so faiked very quickly.
Inspect the Reluctor ring through the ABS sensor hole and clean with a stick and some emery.
Check it is complete and not split or gaps filled with crud.
Go out on a run and check wheel speed live - all should read the same.

The pump itself should not be the issue - my pump failed, brush sezure, with the fault : 5DF0 on mine.

My speedo is working fine, so would that mean it's the rear right that needs replacing?

I have purchased the one from Euro Car Parts, is was £100 reduced to £65, the only other I could find is on GSF and was £200. I have seen then for £16 on ebay, which I've have avoided completely.

I will certainly give the hole a good clean before I replace.

You said you were going to replace rear left?
I was pointing out that if the Speedo is working then the rear left is working.

I think there is some confusion from my side. Carly was pointing to the rear speed sensor at the top of the carly diagnosis, but at the bottom mentioned the left inlet valve shorted, which I mistakenly took as the rear left wheel sensor. So I now presume as the speedo is working it will be the rear right that is at fault.
