Error code 2A99

I’ve noticed lately my car has been very sluggish and boggy on acceleration and general throttle response. Today an engine light came on and my code reader chucked a 2A99 - Crankshaft exhaust, correlation.

Is this going to be Vanos related? Worn seals?

Anything else this could be before I start taking things apart and spending £££

First thing to do is check battery age / condition. If it's the original battery it will be pretty tired at 13 years old...change it.

If problems persist, try removing the vanos solenoids and giving them a good clean with carb cleaner. Sometimes cleaning them doesn't help though and it's easier just to replace. Easy to do and not expensive.
