... just caught myself searching bmw.co.uk for a used 535d....

I've had Zeds for the past 10 years! - but i'm suddenley drawn to those big comfy armchair seats. (I currently have the sports seats. - comfortable they are not!).

anyone here got good/bad experiences with 535d?

Rgds.

Don't do it....sit on a cushion for long drives. It worked in my Z3 and I used to drive it on 12 hr drives and those seats were not made for comfort at all. :tumbleweed:

I'd love a 535d & I often look too, but only to keep as well as the Zed.

Thus I'm dreaming.. I'm strangely drawn to Range Rovers tho for the same bet, lol.

Get both..... i currently have a 525i SE Automatic (armchair is how i refer to mine too :D ) which is my day to day car and is useful when lugging round extra passengers, suitcases to airport etc. And when i need to have a burst of speed, i take out my Black (55 plate) Z4 2.5 (manual box). In my opinion, the best of both worlds.

Quite like the 535d but not a patch on the Z4. Think they can get quite thirsty if you do short journeys and use the performance so go into it with your eyes open.

What about an E89 Z4, sports seats are really comfy with adjustable bolsters :sweetheart:

My boss had a 535s M Sport until recently, lovely car even with 120k on clock, I would have jumped at it if I had the money/need for a bigger car, company sold it for 12K (54 plate). Lucky sod now has a Jaguar XF-R 503bhp v8 supercharged, only downside is he visits petrol stations nearly everyday :(

mate of mine had a 535d Msport a monster of a car he let me drive it and I was so impresed with the performance If i did not need a 4x4 there would be one parked outside now but I would still keep the zed

I had a 523i Sport and the sports seats were very good. :) The seats were wider than Z's, and provided good support when cornering. If you search for 5-series, it has to be M Sport model. The used prices should drop more quickly after new year, when the new 5-series arrives.
