Equality my arse....

Perhaps he was, or not but he was a white police officer policing a largely black neighbourhood (all too typical) and knelt with one knee on the mans neck and another in the middle of his back despite otherd pleas and for 8 mins, over 20 dollars.
The BLM movement came from events such as this.
Would this have happened if the person on the ground had been white? That is the point and why lewis hamilton takes the position he does. I guess he may have experienced a degree of racism himself yes.... I think this thread should stay up just to prove how diverse members views are

Probably yes! Do you think this appears as an entry in the Police handbook as 'ways to restrain and kill black people?'
White people probably suffer the same fate regularly (I'm not condoning by the way) or merely by 'death in custody' but do you hear about it? Probably not. I think Candace Owens (A black female) made a good point when she stated her race was the only one that upholds and supports criminals and those that impact our society negatively. Honestly, if some 'white trash' was being taken out by the cops, most people of 'lighter complexion' would probably consider it justice served. Not treat them as a hero.

Based on your first post you offer what is in imho the disingenuous suggestion that because people in the us have not rioted in response to the death our officer that proves equality is what ?? Not important to them?
Why on earth would they notice when most deathd by officer in the states are of non whites but your actually 3 to 4 times more likely to die if your black. How many held accountable ??
Have we missed thr grorge zimmerman case, the black jogger chased and gunned down by locals, because be looked out of place, the lack of any legal action for weeks, the people shot 7/8 times in the back the ambulance worker shot through the walls if the house? The cases go on and on John...
Even your later post seemd to suggest this is a problem of the past. Really?
Later posts make the point that blacks kept blacks as slaves, yes maybe they did but that cant be seen in the same light as the practice of the east india /dutch trading companies if the past the overtly racist KKK still present in the US.
BLM came from a very US place where the racist views of the Old South are still a problem now certainly and still in this country not just in the past.
To talk about breakfast cereals etc (coon??) just undermines the need for some change surely. It's a shame that your tired of it...

They’d notice over there when high profile people like Hamilton make it known Paul, just like we know about G Floyd. My initial post was an overview of how equality is being ignored, not just in the states, here as well by campaigners jumping on the bandwagon, Hamilton the biggest name I’ve seen for instance. I do take your point, as my wording is not the best. But do you think it’s right that whites are being savaged by black people just because they’re white now? For white privilege? As you say about too many cases to mention of racist attacks by KKK as just one example, and it goes without saying it needs to stop, but when did Hamilton start to campaign for that? Again as just one example the world over, as you say far too many to mention. He jumps on something when he sees fit, like posting a video of himself having a day with his dog on their own to reflect on the state of the worlds climate crisis, a video which had him speeding across the sea at full chat on a very powerful boat probably burning about 3 gallons to the mile, this after a video saying he sometimes feels like giving up when so many people don’t care about the planet, this along with earning hundreds of millions in one of, if not the most, environmentally damaging sports on the planet. Then this guy who is making huge waves in his quests doesn’t even mention the shooting in his own country even to just recognise it. I get it wasn’t a a black guy shooting a white cop, but that’s my point, no equality, which yet again is being ignored, because he and the campaigners don’t mention when white people are being killed or savaged. Do you think it’s right that a white guy has 10 black guys kicking the s**t out him, stamping on his head just because he’s white during black lives matter protests..? Buildings fired, rioting...too many examples. Where are the black lives matter people, blacks and whites, calling for an end to that action...? A middle 20’s white girl jogging down a street, just jogging, has a 6’5” black guy stop her, demand she goes onto her knees in front of him and apologise for being white..? The poor girl was shaking so hard you could see the fear in her, Id wager she thought she was going to get beaten. if you want lives to matter why do you have to behave like that..? What does that do..? Just two examples of so many. No equality, and does Hamilton mention such acts..? Not seen him do so so far. Maybe he just sees the nice bits and conveniently ignores the bad. I doubt he’s had a serious racist comment thrown at him his whole life, he’s had a very very privileged upbringing, good for him, lucky guy, I wish everyone could. I’m pointing him out here as just one voice that refuses to mention equality, my point yet again, there are many. He goes on a crusade when he’s bored and just screws it up when he has such influence. I’m not fed up of the black lives matter thing Paul, I want a world where we all live side by side. what I’m fed up with is it’s so imbalanced. To have a world where we’re all rightly equal needs equality, if it doesn’t start at the start it doesn’t start at all, and it needs people of huge influence to do that imho.

Again just my thoughts. :)

There doesnt seem to be any correct way to address any of the issues that are circulating in the world now.
Its not right but its best to sit back and let it roll by as you will never be correct.

Agree wholeheartedly with the desire for equality, dont regret starting this thread though.
On a lighter note (thank f#ck i hear you say!!) How about a "name my boat" thread, assured of course that Boaty McBoatface has 'been had' already
I will look out for it

You mean my boat Paul..?

Already out of my hands.... Nauti girl has to go though...stupid name... The good lady is insisting on Tarka after our first cat since we got married.....

......she who must be obeyed even though I bought the bloody thing.....

Indeed John. Tarka is lovely, follows the theme of water /seas and rivers and not at all controversial, but might be like silver cars...lots of Tarkas out there but only one Boaty McBoatface :D
Cheers

OMG John, naming your boat after a character from a book written by a racist fascist nazi supporter?
How very dare you
:D :D :D :D :) :headbang: :headbang: :poke: :poke: :fuelfire: :fuelfire:

Hmmmmm not sure you can label Williamson that Owdie....he did say he wanted to speak to Hitler to try to dissuade him form war. He admired certain aspects of post war Nazi Germany, different to the Nazi Germany in the conflict but to what extent I’m not sure. He was clearly an advocate for peace so I’m good......

We called our first boat Rioja, for obvious reasons.

The second boat was named Mad Hatter, I don’t know why :D

I wonder what Jesus would think?
He might be a bit biased though because of his blue eyes and blond hair....
