Equality my arse....

Might be me being blind but so far I haven’t seen any black or white Americans rioting because of the white copper shot in Croydon the other day. Nor have I seen any protests in this country for the same crime.

Silly me....he was just a white plod who has served most of his working life for the force.....no loss and barely worth reporting it is it.....

Hay Hoo. :tumbleweed:

Wonder if Hamilton is having a load of T shirts made up as we speak...and get his team to paint the car white along with white overalls, and try to make the rest of the grid feel guilty for not taking a knee for the poor guy.

.......I won’t set any clock ticking tbh.....

Only in the 2020 can you have one racial minority with 100s of exclusive clubs and organizations screaming racism at the excluded people.

Did you know.... over 1000 black fetuses are aborted each day in America? That's 365,000 unnecessary black deaths per year. But because it's black on black, because black people commit this atrocity, it's somehow OK. If black lives really mattered, this would be a great place to show and demonstrate some commitment to change.

Yes, it's all a one-way street for some reason.

One random example was when someone set up the MOBO Awards some years ago for Music Of Black Origin.

But they forgot about the MONBO version for Music Of Non-Black Origin. :?

Surely that is racist?

How many white foetuses are aborted each day...? Who said it’s ok that the black foetuses are aborted...? I certainly didn’t, nor would I. That’s the point of my title....there isn’t any equality. The black African Americans in particular have been, and in some places continue to be, treated with utter contempt through history, but so are whites now, and by black people, but no one now dares say that. If you dare to watch footage of some clips from sites other than YouTube you’ll see some horrendous punishment dished out to white people by black people jumping on the Floyd bandwagon. If we in the UK and a lot of Europe had the same contempt for Germans then what...? It’s utterly atrocious what happened to black Americans in particular but we can’t change the past, just like we in Europe don’t condemn modern Germans. But I’m a bit fed up of this constant it’s only black lives that matter.

Anyway maybe I shouldn’t have posted it in the first place.

It's ironic that black people put black people in chains and sold them to traders. It's a crime against humanity not a race. Slavery is as old as mankind. 5 - 6 million Jews (estimated death toll) got much worse treatment from Germany. Society should not try to exact a price from modern man for the sins of their ancestors.
Maybe we should start taking the Pyramids down?

Then there is this ...

:?

Uncle Ben's rice changes name to more 'equitable' brand https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-54269358

The Uncle Ben's thing is as ridiculous as it gets.
When I grew up in Australia, any good friends of my parents were referred to by me as 'Uncle' or 'Aunty'. That was how it was. It was a sign of respect, and signified someone that was cherished by the family, but not family. I'm in my 50's now, and still refer to those people as 'Uncle' and 'Aunty' (that's conditioning for you!). Moreover, my good friends get referred to as 'Uncle' or 'Aunty' by my children now.
I've had conversations with people here, and mostly the story is the same.
...And guess what? None of these people are black, coloured or mixed race.

I get racial stereotyping to a point but as usual where do you stop...? I mean the old golliwogs as one example yes for chuffs sake, not sure how anyone could be bemused over those going, but Uncle bens rice...? Isn’t Uncle Ben in the same vein as old grandpa sitting on the veranda with a banjo having a strum for his grandkids in the evening...?

If it’s going to get this silly what the hell are they gonna do with this...??

Simple fact is, and you cannot do anything whatsoever about it, is it’s either fully black, or its mouth is, and its very very bloody dangerous....are we going to have to cull them until they’re extinct because it’s just that, black and dangerous...? Roll your eyes perhaps but that’s how crazy some of this is getting if you can’t have a friendly old pop type on a packet of rice be they black, white, or any other skin colour.

I’m maybe being far too simplistic about this but by Christ I can’t get the Uncle Ben thing. I thought process with that is the same way as Aunt Bessie’s Yorkshire puddings etc, it’s a brand name with some instantly recognisable homely face in it irrespective of colour/creed/ethnicity :headbang:

Branding, marketing and advertising - no hidden agenda

In the process of changing names....even though it's named after the original founder of the company....some are waaaaayyyyy too sensitive.

Because in general, people that kill police get put in prison. (Ie justice).

However there is a theme of ethnic minorities, in particular black people being unlawfully killed by police, yet police officers getting off scot free. (Ie injustice).

I doubt the craziness of some of the USA states and thier off the scale crazy cops will ever be levelled out, such is the outcome of having guns for citizens and law enforcement.

The point I’m making is about equality, not the rights and wrongs of past injustices. You could go on forever giving examples of injustice dealt out by different colour people on each other, the savagery of mankind. It doesn’t start or end with black people only, history is rich in injustice towards every skin colour there is, but if you’re going to go on a route like the black lives matter movement then you also need to be as vocal about other skin colour too in the name of equality. I don’t see much equality in the black lives matter movement, and isn’t that the whole point of protesting...for the world to have equality...?

As I said maybe I shouldn’t have posted as it’s a long and very emotive subject but rightly or wrongly I say as I see, and the fact that no one in the spotlight on the world stage, or has access to many media platforms has made any noise about this officer, or the one dragged behind the car a couple of months ago galls me tbh as it just seems that as they were both white it doesn’t matter at the moment. Not saying I’m right or wrong, just what I think.

Black people being unlawfully killed by police isn’t just a ‘past injustice’ but is continuing to happen to this present day - which is why people are fed up and have set up movements to express their concerns and raise awareness in an attempt to address the problem.

There are several other racial injustices present in modern day society but this is not a forum (imo) to enter debate over racial politics.

The police officer being killed in Croydon is a disgusting act and I’m pretty sure no one in their right mind in this world would condone it.

However, the suspect Louis de Zoysa (some weird gun fanatic) has nothing to do with the Black Lives Matter Movement, nor is an advocate/activist of equality for that matter either. I see what he did more as an act of terrorism (killing an officer of the state).

Yes I know all that, who doesn’t...? I didn’t ‘just’mention past injustices, I said examples all around the world, kinda meaning up to date.

My point is being missed by a country mile and I can’t keep saying it so I’ll leave it. Probably best get the whole thread removed actually.

Based on your first post you offer what is in imho the disingenuous suggestion that because people in the us have not rioted in response to the death our officer that proves equality is what ?? Not important to them?
Why on earth would they notice when most deathd by officer in the states are of non whites but your actually 3 to 4 times more likely to die if your black. How many held accountable ??
Have we missed thr grorge zimmerman case, the black jogger chased and gunned down by locals, because be looked out of place, the lack of any legal action for weeks, the people shot 7/8 times in the back the ambulance worker shot through the walls if the house? The cases go on and on John...
Even your later post seemd to suggest this is a problem of the past. Really?
Later posts make the point that blacks kept blacks as slaves, yes maybe they did but that cant be seen in the same light as the practice of the east india /dutch trading companies if the past the overtly racist KKK still present in the US.
BLM came from a very US place where the racist views of the Old South are still a problem now certainly and still in this country not just in the past.
To talk about breakfast cereals etc (coon??) just undermines the need for some change surely. It's a shame that your tired of it...

Nor was Derek Chauvin a member of any white supremacist group as far as I am aware.
