EPS disconnect

Anyone know if the EPS has a separate fuse to disconnect it, or failing that where the connector is located?
Does disconnecting throw up any odd codes as clearly it would be difficult to drive without it?

Indeed will it be drivable (aside needing strong arms to steer) or does it have say a worm drive gearbox that means it cannot be turned?

My geo set up guys want me to run an experiment to see if driving without it removes the strange wheel wobble/movement I am experiencing and rather than diving in blindly am gathering info. first.

I can't help you with the fuse or connector but it will be driveable with it disconnected, it will just feel the same as when you have the ignition on with the engine not running.

i have had the EPS fail and i guarantee that it is HEAVIER than you can imagine. at stanstill its virtually impossible to turn the wheel!

on the road the lack of eps causes over correction of the steering and you tend to wander off line side to side (only slightly) but the whole expirence is PANTS!!!!!

Well guys this is good information to know it's possible to test albeit somewhat heavy and may feel 'pants'

I'm used to wrestlng undrivable vehicles. It's not uncommon for me to come off Jeep events with no power steering. 2 tons on 35" tyres in ruts is seriously heavy.

your lucky you have it when you start the event! :poke:
many things round here i just have to reply on momentum as a steering aid :)

Yep, still driveable. I didn't think it was that heavy on the run tbh (I just turned engine off down hill), but I wouldn't want it to not be helping at low speeds either :o
I bet it is very heavy at low speed!
