I will be in Wales that Sunday but in the Golf
And Taz at the back sweeping up !

My GF lives in Quedgeley (just off A38 in Gloucester) so I'm thinking this could be my ideal opportunity for first meet, going right past afterall...

Put me in possibles for the mo... won't be able to make whole trip but it may be I just join for the first half (ie back to Gloucester) :driving:

I am going to a Pistonheads sunday service at the Morgan factory which is about a 45 minute drive from The Kings Head in Birdwood so could come along for the lunch and static meet there if that's ok?

You're more than welcome. I'd estimate us being there about 12:30 - 13:30

Any ideas on what the weathers going to be like?

Not yet, but on the rule of averages, as this weekend has been shite, I'm slightly more optimistic for next weekend !

On a Separate note, We may be having a maintenance closure on the old Severn Bridge next weekend but ONLY Westbound. This should not affect our plans at all for the trip as we are doing the route anti-clockwise.

So, at the moment only a 10% chance of rain on Sunday 13th. .. or 90% chance of dry weather , sounds better !

The Plan

I've spoken to the Kings Head re lunch and they are happy with a general nod in advance rather than wanting actual numbers and menu choices in advance, so I no longer need exact passenger numbers. I'm just working on about 50% of cars having a passenger and 50% not, so 18 cars = 25-30 people.

Please meet at Aust Services from 10am onwards. (We will depart at 11am). Follow signs for CHEPSTOW not Cardiff, if approaching from England, as you need the Old M48 bridge, not the M4) If I get chance this week I'll prepare and print a couple of hand-outs, just in-case anyone gets separated, so you can at least get to the next meeting point.

I know there are a few (Si-Forks, Wilbo & Adam83) meeting at various points. You 3 should have all had a PM from me just so you've got a contact phone number, for re-assurance if the group is delayed or plans change last minute.

With 18 or 19 cars in total, it may be an idea to split the group in three lots of 6 cars between stages on the day, but all meeting up at the key points. (We'll never manage with 18 cars pulled over waiting for the last one exit a junction !)

Keep an eye on this thread towards the end of the week for any final amendments or announcements.

Please let me know if anyone has to pull out this week ( or if anyone new is coming along).

I look forward to seeing you all.

What is a gaptech?

I've only just spotted this thread!

If its not to late, I would love to join you all this Sunday.

I have driven through the wye valley a few times and the stretch from Tintern up to Chepstow is particularly good! Even better in a convoy of 20 zeds!

Please put my name down.

Cheers

You're welcome. You can slot nicely into Ryan's place. (Shame Ryan can't make it though).

A Gaptech is a small module that allows you to operate your roof remotely from your key. (Unless you've got a Coupe !)
