English/Welsh Meet - The Aftermath...

Well we finally got back to Cornwall about an hour ago. It's been a great weekend of driving seeing new sights, meeting new people and catching up with old fiends. Cheers Alan for your hard work.

Had to break out the sun screen today on the Journey back across the moors. :driving: 8)

Cheers John, Sorry I didn't get to speak to you much, but hope to see you in September, if we manage to get down your way.

That might be the case, but a trip with flimper included is never dull for obvious reasons

Even when escorted, flimper manages to get lost

Only did it for your amusement Paul :D

Thanks for the organisation Number5, enjoyable day, although I must admit to wondering what those welsh roads are like when they are empty (what was that guy in the Aston doing, what a waste of horsepower!). Think I might have to stay over Saturday night next time and get an early drive in on the Sunday.

Good to meet some new faces as well as old - 2dogs your CSLs looked ace, Ruby sorry for not recognising you straight away, and please banish ideas of leaving the M behind, how could you cope without Interlagos in your life

Big thumbs up to Dick Lovett as well, very sporting of them to lay on a spread and accommodate requests for the techs to put the cars on the ramp

Thats one of our regular runs at 7-8 am on a Sunday Morning and when it is empty, I can tell ..it's good. Not only twisty with some good overtaking spots, but beautifully scenic too

Yes, fantastic. Especially as all of the guys in the white T-Shirts came in voluntarily in their own time for us.

Yeah, was great getting the car up on the ramp...managed to get a lovely view of my nice new gearbox, very shiny and fresh! The nice chap also spotted that I had a slightly weeping drive camshaft diff, so that'll be going in for warranty work (certainly get my moneys worth form that!)

Yes, not like we haven't met possibly about half a dozen times :telloff: :)
To be honest I've been talking about selling the Zed for a year and not made any real moves to do so, don't think it's going anywhere very soon. Besides would miss out on great meets like this one going forwards if it wasn't in my life.

That's half the fun with these cars now, the meets. :D

With no apologies to Smokie....

Driving Along With Eddie....

Stu Boy called 'cos he'd got the word,
And he said "I guess everyone's heard -
About Eddie"
Well Bing pulled to the kerb,
And he climbed outside,
The Welsh ladies couldn't believe their eyes
As a short fat Scotsman started to cry
"Where's Eddie"...

Oh, we don't know where he's heading
Or what he's gonna do,
We know he's got a satnav,
But he hasn't got a clue,
'Cos for twenty-four miles,
There's been no sign of Eddie.
Twenty-four miles and hoping all the while
To get him on the right track, maybe get to see his smile
Now we've got to get used to not driving along with Eddie

Eddie, where the f*ck is Eddie...?

Our Eddie got sad,
'Cos 'Donna's not here'
Someone offered to share,
But Eddie's not queer
...not Eddie
Well we turned left,
but Eddie went right,
then pretty soon,
he was lost from sight
...was Eddie

Eddie, where the f*ck is Eddie...?

Oh, we don't know where he's heading
Or what he's gonna do,
We know he's got a satnav,
But he hasn't got a clue,
'Cos for twenty-four miles,
There's been no sign of Eddie.
Twenty-four miles and hoping all the while
To get him on the right track, maybe get to see his smile
Now we've got to get used to not driving along with Eddie

But we'll never get used to not driving along with Eddie

Eddie, Eddie, where the f*ck is Eddie...?
