English/Welsh Meet - The Aftermath...

Thanks for a great day Alan, and nice to put some names to faces :D as as meeting some I hadn't seen for a while, like 2dogs, Ruby and Disca.

The South east has a nice contingent. Bing has also agreed to organise the same event next year in Kent

i find it so embarrassing not recognising people :headbang:

We don't have big enough car parks or quiet enough roads srhutch

Great day - I'll add my thanks to all the others going to Alan for all his efforts in putting the day together and the BMW dealership meet point was an inspired choice, the BMW techs were so enthusiastic about the cars and seeing them all lined up taking photos as we left was one of the highlights of the weekend

Thanks for the organisation and allowing me to bring two cars to the event. As Bing mentioned above, he enjoyed driving my car

I also enjoyed the company and driving my other car :D

Can we come join you on the next 911 meet? :driving:

The next one? Never been on a first one yet :D

Don't seem to be a lot going on there ...

I meant to thank you in person for sorting out the donations last year for the car. but unfortunately I couldn't pick you out in the crowd/recognise you! My bad! But thanks! I hope seeing her in person made it all worthwhile.

No problem - I was the guy who told you that we wanted to put marmite front/centre for the lineup

Talking of Donations...

I did intend to collect a Fiver off each car to donate to the Forum Funds, like we did last year, but forgot all about it during the chaotic day.

Therefore, if you enjoyed the weekend, please send a Fiver into Sp3ctre, using the Paypal link on the Home page as without this Forum the English/Welsh run would never have happened...

GO ON, DO IT NOW

:ilz4f:

And keep the photos coming... !

Looks like a great day, pity we couldn't get on the list......but we had a good time in the North wales run, and that is probably the biggest meet for a single day, bar the z-fest of course, as we have only ever had 44 over 2days/a weekend at past meets, and upto 34 cars for each day.
Well done at keeping everyone together,no.5; always a hard job

Nice pics, and hopefully some of us from Northern England and Scotland forum members can make the next big South Wales meet. :driving:

Thanks Craig,
With hindsight, we could have included you and a few more. We had 57 on the original list. About 3 PM'd me a few days before to say they couldn't make it but disappointingly 10 just failed to show up on the day, without any communication at all.
I've not started to think about next year yet, but I'm sure we will do something and all will be invited.

Yeah, its often the case, some people just don't turn up. we have had that at the National before...expecting 45-55 cars and end up with 25-35 cars...but its all good, looks like you had nice weather,North wales was a tad wet n windy, but fun non the less :D

Great day out, a nice route and the weather held out, well done to the organisers
Was good to meet all you guys I got round to chatting with and putting some faces to names.

Great day, throughly enjoyed...but for some reason I ended up leaving with the wrong crew (knew I was headed in the wrong direction after 5 mins, then typically thought f**k it....drove back up to Gloucester, then across to Oxford and back to the M25....15 hours driving in one day!

Ah, so that was you...I thought we'd picked up any extra ///M Coupe to our group from somewhere

 I wondered why we had 9 on the way home, must have counted about a dozen times and couldn't work out why we had an extra car!!?

Ha, yeah, actually was pretty decent run in the end, somehow preferred driving back a different route, more scenic than the 300 miles of motorway I'd driven on earlier that day!

That might be the case, but a trip with flimper included is never dull for obvious reasons

Even when escorted, flimper manages to get lost
