English/Welsh Meet - The Aftermath...

I could very well be up for this, would be a good chance to meet you all :friends:
Thats pretty much what it will be. Far too many cars for a drive of any speed. Just a social event really, a slow cruise, pub lunch and then some beautiful scenery back down the Wye Valley if the weather is kind to us.

Yep add me to the list too. Will probably meet up with you all as you swing by Gloucs and go from there though as its a little closer to home. Be good to put some faces to names etc at a first meet

I'd think me, si-forks and Nathan will be meeting at Glouc too as coming down from the Midlands.
Could well be double this years turn out, that's a lot of cars to keep together on such a big route!

It takes a bit more effort, and increases the chances of getting some people lost, but if you have two leaders who know the route well you can stagger the start and have two groups.

If there are people who want to travel slightly faster then they can go in the second group, after an extra cup or two of coffee to ensure they're appropriately wired :D

Yes, numbers could be a problem if everyone who says they'll turn up does. However that's rarely the case !
We had 20 cars on the (95 mile) run this year so if we get over 30 next year, it would just have to be a case of splitting them into smaller groups of 8 or 9 and then letting them off at 10 minute intervals but all meet up at the various stops. (Tin-tops would obviously have to go at the back too... :?)

The Bristol boys have done the route numerous times so 4 or 5 of us know it well and can all lead groups. I'll probably have to inform the 3 relevant Police forces, out of courtesy if it gets much bigger than last year.

Anyway, I'll pick it all up in February, and finalise the smaller details but anyone wanting hotels, there are loads of the usual big chains (Premier Inn &, Travelodges at BS10, Holiday Inn Exp at BS32) all very close to the M4/M5 interchange.

*The set date is provisional so if you do book, book using flexible packages allowing cancellation upto mid-day of arrival..
