England vs Spain - EURO 2024 Final

Well the better team won.

TBH England were lucky to get to the Final - you can't expect to win tournaments going a goal down in most matches!

Commentators are hilarious. England get a goal via a deflection and all of a sudden Spain are ‘on the back foot’.
Sadly their back foot ran rings around England’s front foot.
You cannot win when you walk about admiring the other teams passes.
Can we please now treat Kane like the other cart horses and put him out to grass. Only time I saw him run was to get off the pitch when he was substituted, 🤣

Point of note, Scotland beat Spain 2-0 in the Euro qualifiers!!!

Is there an echo on here?

It's not like Scotland actually qualified. :P

The best team won and the second best team weren't in the final (Turkey in my opinion for their attitude).

I hate to say it but I am actually pleased England didn't win; cos if they had the utter shite they have played throughout the tournament would have been instantly forgotten and they would all be heroes for the next 58 years!

They will probably be deemed as heroes tomorrow, anyway, for coming second!

Point of note, they did, but were p!sh as usual

Oops slipped up there then, what with my Dad being a Scot.

Still as the Americans say 2nd place is just the first runner-up!

Wonder if us English tourists will be welcomed back to Spain now? Even if it is to laugh at us

Reading the papers, tourists are not welcome in a lot of areas in Spain

No change there, then (even though we have bolstered their economy, through tourism, for nigh on 60 years).

My 18 year old daughter is in 'Shagaluf' at present. I will admit to being very worried yesterday for her wellbeing.

Usually go to Majorca a couple of time per year but have stayed away this year.
Made very welcome in the Italian lakes so going back in September.

My money spends anywhere. If the Spanish don't want it........

The lakes and Tuscany, stunning areas which I do not know their equivalent in Spain.

Well at least we won't have any more team selections from Gareth Southgate. :D

I'm guessing he'll be snapped up by some obscure foreign team on a ridiculously salary.

Tim.
Not sure TBH. He only had 3 years' experience as a club manager with Middlesbrough, then went into the England camp (after a 4 year sabbatical). Not a lot of experience, so does make you wonder if he was 'groomed for great things' by the FA early on?
