hello,

yesterday my Zed, turn on the engine yellow light.

I ride a litlle bit but fast.

After I turn off the engine, yellow light turn on. I see the oil level, but are normal (seems to me).

What could it be? :?

p.s.:sorry my english.

Engine light is nothing to do with oil (there are red and yellow oil lights for that!) It is most likely nothing serious and emissions related, but you will need to have the fault codes read. No amount of guessing will get you anywhere I'm afraid. You can either have the fault codes read by a dealer/indy or buy a cable and do it yourself.

On aside Note i had all sorts of problems with a 330 and it turned out to be caused by low oil and me assuming it should say when low, ie yellow light, only to find the oil sender had failed.

Whatever the complex faults a BMW may throw alot can be tracked back to basics of how an engine works

Another good one I had was 02 sensors etc, misfires, turned out to be a brand new duff fuel filter

thanks for your opinion!

however today I change the oil + filter and air filter at home. The air filter was very unclean.

since I bought the Zed (2 months), never change the oil.

the engine works now more smooth. 8)

...another question at last, this engine (M54) is usually a "oil consumer"?

:)

Worth a watch

I find mine does and my old 330 did, most allow for 1 litre per 1k, if you boot it then you should check you oil once a week, its a 1 minute job than could save you £££

In my case not alot 200ml per 1k at min, but I do drive it like its meant to, I also check it all the time for that very reason

I usually check the oil in my cars.

In Zed, I go check more times because is "new" for me. :)

The car is only 50.331,06 miles. I think have no reason to drink too much oil... :|
