'Engine' warning symbol.

On my wife's 2009 E89 2.3iS (50k mls) the 'engine' warning symbol is lluminated yellow on the binnacle display continuously. Checked the 'check' and it shows 'check ok'. Car runs fine, no unusual sounds. The handbook doesn't indicate anything. Any ideas why pls?

OBD11 Code reader, cheap enough off ebay or ask if a forum member nearby has one and can read the codes for you.

Could be a coil.

I had that issue on an e46, mechanics kept saying it's a lean mixture in bank 1, leading me to believe it was a breather problem. The problem disappeared when I had a full service with new spark plugs, only to find a cracked coil.

Just had new spark plugs a month ago. I suppose it could be a coil issue. I'll get someone to read it.
