Engine sound advice 2.0

Hi,

I have the N46 2.0l z4 and wanted to ask about engine sound.

Mine sounds a bit flat, more of a brrrrrrr than a grrrrrrrr.its also a little flat (power wise) early in the revs.

I appreciate it's the 4 cyclinder, so not expecting M performance or sound, but want to get a view of whether it needs checking out, or it's just a little flat sounding.

I've previously owned alfas and they sounded great, at 1.6 and 2.0 engines. Maybe not a fair comparison though.

I liked the sound of my 2 litre - best modification is to keep it spinning in the higher revs :D - mine sounded nice on the over run too I thought - so much so I used to double de clutch to hear it. Found it a very smooth engine and when kept on the boil good fun (certainly flat at low revs in the higher gears - very little pull made 5th and 6th redundant except as overdrive and cruising). Hope you get a sound you're happy with.

:driving:
