Engine Rattle on Ignition Off

Only brief but just wondering if anyone has experienced the same when they switch the ignition off

Best to do the same with all cars, assuming a clutch is present. Better for the whole transmission. :wink:

Annoying as f**k that sound like isn’t it. I also depress the clutch when turning it off

I’ll be doing that from now on then - don’t suppose the clutch release bearing could also be contributing to the noise I hear from the rear of the car when changing between the low gears early into any trip. Or is that just my poor driving skills?

I have both of those 'issues' in mine as well. From what I gather from looking at forums, both seem to be fairly common and nothing to worry about? I hope...

It could be the release bearing but I'd put money on it being the dual mass flywheel as well - they clatter a bit when there's no load on them going down from idle to stopped. Mine stopped when I had a lightweight single mass flywheel installed (I went back to standard after a short while) Nothing to worry about...
