Only brief but just wondering if anyone has experienced the same when they switch the ignition off

Nailed it there - just tried it and it went away when clutch was depressed
Best to do the same with all cars, assuming a clutch is present. Better for the whole transmission.

Annoying as f**k that sound like isn’t it. I also depress the clutch when turning it off

I’ll be doing that from now on then - don’t suppose the clutch release bearing could also be contributing to the noise I hear from the rear of the car when changing between the low gears early into any trip. Or is that just my poor driving skills? :P

I have both of those 'issues' in mine as well. From what I gather from looking at forums, both seem to be fairly common and nothing to worry about? I hope...

It could be the release bearing but I'd put money on it being the dual mass flywheel as well - they clatter a bit when there's no load on them going down from idle to stopped. Mine stopped when I had a lightweight single mass flywheel installed (I went back to standard after a short while) Nothing to worry about...
