Engine Problem

Hi All

I bought a BMW Z4 3.0 on a 53 plate just over a month ago ( RF53LDY ) It's got this forum sticker on it so I'm assuming a previous owner was on here. It's developed a problem.

When I'm driving the engine management light and the EML light comes on for a second and there is a slight loss of power. This only seems to happen if I'm in a high hgear going really slow or when I take my foot off accelerator for a length of time.

Apart from that it drives great. I've put my OBD2 scanner onto it and this has come up - P28B2 - cylinder 9 ion current sense - circuit low.

I've done a few searches online but nothing comes up. Anyone know what it means??

Cheers James

Ion current sensing is used to detect 'knock', so may be reporting an ignition timing issue. But I didn't realise it was used on the M54 engine and you obviously only have six cylinders :?

Maybe try a different OBD scanner
