Engine Oil Grade

Paranoid

I have just had an Oil service carried out by an Independent.
The Car Z4 2013 2.0 S Drive N20 B20A.
The Oil provided was 0w20 LL17fe.
Should I be concerned as I was expecting the usual 5w30.

You are already getting this discussed in the E85/6 section. I know that's the wrong place, but as you have it well running you'd be better to follow that one maybe?

Ignore the luddites wanting to run it on EP90 / Castrol R

That is the correct oil for the N20 engine series as fiitted to your car..

Refers..

Many thanks,
My daughters car so will not be raced, just day to day commute.
Inclined to keep the status quo.

The oil spec is a long n complex story, driven by emissions related compliance...any modern 0/5-30/40 oil would be ok in reality..

Simple story on these babies is just change the oil n filter every year even if you don’t rack up the miles..

I used that one the last time, because there's a promotion, no other reasons

what is more important, as said before, change it every 15k kilometers, 10k miles
