Engine oil and gear box oil

Hi guys,

I know this is on here somewhere but using the search didnt work as well as hoped and unless I am blind I can only see the "alternative" listed in my service book. As per sig, I have 2006 Coupe, non M. Looking at doing a full engine oil and gear box oil change with the next service. Please could someone give the correct spec for each? Also, is there a general consensus on which brand oil to go for?

The car has done 17k, built Dec 2006 and had oil service and brake fluid done April 2009 (also thought they'd done inspection 1 but dont appeared to have ticked the box). Hadnt realised I'd left it so long but atleast co-terminous with MOT now.

I dont do many miles a year (sub 7000) and its a daily driver so lots of commuting in stop start traffic. I dont do track days or anything like that but comments would be appreciated.

Is there anything else you would have done/looked at? I am keen to keep the mechanics in good shape as I hope to keep it a long time!

Any suggestions much appreciated.

Cheers

Personal pref but i always use Royal Purple oil. Expensive but it works very well, and the gearbox oil makes for a smoother change

I use RedLine MTL, but the others above are good quality oils and the main thing is changing it. While it's up on a lift, swap out the diff oil, too.
