engine note pipe thingy...

i took the foam out of the engine noise pipe yesterday, had a little drive in it and noticed a slight whooshing noise on throttle before the induction noise takes over
obviously its air being drawn in, but is it normal to hear it?
 
Heh, I liked the growl you get, but the whooshing of air sounds just ruined it
 
ok so it is normal to get the whooshing, its just personal taste if one puts up with it or not...
thought i'd give it a go as its a 2 min job
just wanted a bit more sound from it, like most of us i guess!!
 
Many folk cut the foam down and leave only a small piece in to limit the whooshing
