Engine not sounding happy

Hi all - I have an engine that seems low down on power throughout the rev band. No fault codes. However, the engine itself doesn't sound good. I'll try to attach a very short video.

It's a E85 2003 2.5. 100K miles

There are two noises. There is the primary ticking, which isn't great. But there is also a secondary sound behind it that comes in and out. By ear it's front top (maybe vanos), but equally it could be a belt sound. I don't have my mechanics stethoscope with me so can't be more precise.

Oh the engine was warm when I took the video

Any thoughts?
 
You could try removing the belt & running the engine again for a short time, it could discount some causes.

A loose flap in a busted DISA unit could also sound somewhat similar and takes only a couple of minutes to inspect.
