Engine not firing on 2003 3.0i E85.

I’ve posted this problem earlier but it doesn’t seem to be visible.
Anyway, it started yesterday with a very lumpy tick over but cleared when engine was revved and the car drove fine. This morning the same happened but the revs died down and the engine stopped. Tried to start but it’s not firing at all, the engine is just spinning. I plugged my cheapo code reader and it read multiple cylinders miss firing and a trim fault. I cleared the fault but with no luck it’s still not starting and now showing no fault codes. Any advice would be appreciated.

Start by getting a better code reader like the creator 310 plus. Then post up code you are getting. You could try disconnecting battery for 15 minutes, clear codes and then try again.

Mike, I have the Creator 310 plus. It’s not showing any codes at all which is puzzling.

Similar symptoms on a 2.5i, turned out to be a pre-cat O2 sensor, although it did throw codes iirc. Are you going into all the menus to check codes on C310+, it’s not very automatic?
