Engine noise

Hi, I'm servicing the Z at 57k miles, so service 2. Ive done oil, disks/pads, front lolipops myself but think ill take it to an indy for plugs, other fluids etc. Is there something i can do to get the engine sounding better? It's quite tractorish atm. Ive tried the lifter reset (keeping the revs up for certain times etc..folllowed the online guide). Also, my orange oil light has come on eventhough i did an oil change about 2 months ago...could there be leakage??
Cheers!

Orange oil light when you turn the car off means it just needs topping up.

Mine came on a couple weeks back, checked the dipstick and it was just below the max, so nothing to worry about.

What car / engine is it ? If you have the sound generator - which I think is on both the pre and post facelift 3.0 cars - then you can remove some foam to let more noise in the cabin...

Its an 03 3.0i .... and ive take. half the foam out. It isnt so much the amount of noise (although i will be changing exhause) its the amount of 'tinnyness' (for want of a better word) coming from the engine. pretty tappy

Depending what engine it's worth checking the DISA flap/actuator, a worn one can be tappy.
