Ok so on the day i got the Z on 16th December, was 20 miles into a motorway journey when the emissions light came on! finally got round to having it sorted at the end of January and was told by my mechanic that the pipe that leads to the MAF was split in quite a few places! so £113 later and with a new pipe fitted and the error code removed i was happy :driving: !! until this Friday when the bloody light came back on  !! what should i be looking at now?? could it be the MAF that has been damaged due to the broken pipe or perhaps the lambert sensor?? or something more serious??

Thought i might get some info ;-( oh dear lol

This light can appear for a number of reasons and you will either need a garage to read the codes, and usually charge you £100+ for the privilege or you buy yourself a OBD2 Code Reader from eBay, less than £35 including postage and read the code yourself. You cannot second guess what is causing this light to appear.

I had my light come on the other day then off the next. By the time it went off I'd already booked it in to NBA sports cars at Dunsfold just south of Guildford.
They hooked it up and it was showing an intermittent air mass meter fault but given the cost of a new one we reset the diagnostics and will see if it happens again or whether it was a change in climate or something that 'upset' it.
Best part was they were exceptionally reasonable about the cost of diagnostic hookup.

well its booked in on Monday to have it fixed, how much were you quoted for a MAF??

I wasn't at that stage and to date the light hasn't come back on but they did hint of it being a few hundred quid

found the split in the pipe myself bought a new one and fitted myself 10min job part £24 had to go to indy for reset free, just had work done on 330 so let me off.
