Engine Light & Goes Straight To Red on Temp

Hi,

I've just installed the Cruise Control retrofit and think I've cocked up somewhere :(

After putting everything together, the tempreture shot straight to red and the fan came on when I started it up. I dissconnected the cruise control switch and it still does it

Any reason why this could happen? Or is it a trip down to the stealers? :(

It's a 2006 facelift 2.0 zed. I had to install the loom etc. I wired the LCM connections yesterday and had used the car after and was fine (didnt connect the adaptor though), but after installing the final DME pin today it started to happen :(

I double checked the DME pins as it all went in and nothing was bent or anything obvious

After a bit of reading, there is apparently an always-on fan in the E-Box which starts up straight after the ignition is powered on...Not that I spotted anything like it!

The tempreture on the car seems to shoot up before even starting the engine, sooo I'm assuming I may have dissconnected/blocked/provoked this fan somehow while fiddling with the DME? I'll have a look in the morning, hopefully its something minor.. :headbang:

Well, since I never had a diagnostic cable myself I took it to a local garage who said they couldnt read the erorr code nor reset it (their reader was probebly shite) but they did confirm the car wasnt overheating and it was just electrical...

So in the meantime, *somehow*, the tempreture gauge dropped back to normal after a few drives, and then a few more drives later the EML turned off too :|

I guess the only explanation is the DME eventually realised there is no fault after a few cycles? I guess the only question now is where the fook does that Cruise Control wire go on a N46, as it's clearly not the one I tried!!
