Engine hood replacements?

I've dented in my engine hood /bonnet and am considering a fiberglass or CF, aftermarket replacement.

Anyone tried one of the aftermarket hoods? Appreciate any feedback regarding quality, looks, value.
thanks.

Why not just slap on another OEM one?

They are light enough being aluminium and at least will fit properly and look right

Some of the weight of the standard item will be from the fittings (hinges, bonnet release, etc.) so you'll never get a really light-weight one.

There are carbon versions (for £2-3k or so)...

if your going to replace the bonnet/hood why not replace it with the M version

Sorry -- naive about this, and it appears to be an inside joke.
Is the M version different?

Unless you need the weight savings, are putting the car onto the track, or have deep pockets. Then it's probably not worth it, come resale, it would put off potential buyers...

Definitely don't got fibreglass.

Not an inside joke at all, but the ///M one has the dual 'creases' along the top rather than a smooth curve.

Non-///M

and of course all the purists say M parts for M cars only. :P

I agree with this for the badges, bumpers, exhausts, alloys, and other styling mods, I see as just that, but the badges are a no no!

Depending upon year you'd also have to convert from single to double bonnet catch to change to the ///M bonnet. Possible but I'm sure you'd need a bit if metalwork on the earlier Zeds.
