Engine hesitation at low revs

Hi guys,

I own a 2003 3.0l E85. I've had the car just over a year with no problems. Last week I had a water leak and I changed the thermostat and water pump and while I had the car in the garage did the service as well. Just changed the oil, oil filter and air intake filter. All parts I bought from BMW. Suddenly I'm having a problem with engine hesitation at revs less than 1500 RPM. You can only feel this when on 3rd gear up. It feels like a spark plug not firing but could possibly be fuel air mixture problem. I was mostly thinking that it was the latter as the symptoms show best when you are cruising on 6th gear at less than 1500 RPM and suddenly floor it. Maybe the mixture is too rich and engine is choking? As soon as you surpass 2000 RPM the car works beautifully. Could it possibly be a sensor in the air filter area, maybe something happened while changing the filter? I do all my car services myself, so I have a good idea what to take care of when changing parts, but anything is possible. Has anyone ever had this problem? Maybe share some insight?

Many thanks
Steven
