Engine help needed.

Hi All, I have a 2006 2.5si with a blown engine, I have an offer of a 3.0 N52b30A from a 630i, both engines are silver top msv70.
Question I have is will there be fitting issues or are all N52B30A blocks the same? Picture of the donor engine attached was running on lpg also but this will be removed.

I live in Ireland its very difficult to find replacement engines and shipping/VAT/Duty from the UK is a pain.

Thanks in advance.

BMW is very modular so mounting points and the like are almost guaranteed to stay in the same place. Changes between models usually consist of sumps and ancilliaries at worst which you can swap over from yours (external to block, pistons, rods etc, the 2.5si and 3.0si are basically the same unit.)

Interestingly, as I idly had a look at RealOEM, the manual and auto versions have different sumps to each other, but are shared with the equivalents in the 5/6 series. Normally they swap sumps because things like steering racks or suspension setups are in the way.

One thing that did occur to me though. Since you are changing engine size you'd normally carry across the DME rather than use the original but if the E85 is a manual (the 630i will be auto) then it'll probably need the autobox stuff programming out of it.
