Engine cover change

Ant idea why the changed from the silver color to the black engine cover on the N52? I like the silver better as it seems to give the bay some color contrast. Was this only on the 2006 models?

Mines an '07 and is black. I don't know why they changed, but personally I'm glad they did.

Ditto!

(btw, you didn't say if yours the 3.0 or the 3.0Si like Breaker's and mine?)

mine is a 3.0 but I've seen the silver on 2006 SI as well in pictures.

Interesting.

As to Carbon Fiber--   especially if I can move where the @##%$% oil filler cap is placed. My OEM strut tower brace goes right over the center of that darn cap. :x

Oh, I'll keep you guys posted on the Carbon...

I just got my Z, sorry no pics yet. I'm loving it, but it pissed me off the other day! Failed inspection for throwing a BS code. (Another Story)

But my brother is doing handmade Carbon Fiber Parts. I think I'm gonna get CF Rollover Bars first, then do the Engine Cover.

I will throw lots of pics of those up.

I have a Dec 06 3.0 Si Coupe and it has a silver cover so must have been a change to all 2007 production cars irrespective of model. To be honest it is merely a cover so I don't give a toss what colour it is :)

We had a thread about this before, there didn't seem to be any conclusive pattern to the covers IIRC. I quite like the silver one myself.
