Engine blip at 4k revs

Hi all,

On heavy accleration, no matter the gear, my car seems to have a quick blip (like 1 second, but very noticeable) at 4ks revs where there is no acceleration, as if it was getting bogged down by traction control or something, then it picks up again and carrys on through as normal.

Any thoughts on what it could be?

4k revs is a DISA changeover point but I wouldn't expect that to be very noticeable. I would suspect more coil pack / spark plug first of all. Could be vanos related too so vanos solenoid worth a clean out as easy to do. Might be a code stored so worth checking for that.
 
Could be several things, my first guess would be an iffy coil. Does it change with engine temp? Are there any fault codes?
