It's surprising how much surface dirt you can remove with a damp microfibre cloth.
You could spray a engine pay cleaner onto a cloth and clean if it's really dirty. And then go over with a damp cloth again to remove any cleaner.



I just use a damp cloth all the time and then spray the engine bay with a detailer to make it shine.

Flimper get yourself a few MF cloths no need for expensive brand as its the engine bay I then use a QD to remove most of the dust and grime and I used AG ITR the first time I did this job to remove stubborn marks and Autosol for the metal pipework heres a list of what I used

This was handy for real stubborn marks on the body coloured surfaces first time I cleaned the engine bay

I use this to dress the plastics under the engine bay removing excess with an MF and makes a great tyre dressing

...you must have a tap ? Buy a watering can - even if you have to trek up the stairs twice you'll have enough water to rinse off any cleaning product you use, like degreaser.

Then get yourself some Aerospace 303 to dress the plastics afterwards - lasts ages, and protects everything too. I only properly clean my engine bay about once a year, the rest of the time it gets a wipe over with a damp my cloth as described above, and dried using... A dry one

Seriously mate , you could have the engine bay looking showroom fresh in 20 mins with a few kitchen sponge scotch pads
& some rejuvinating rubber/plastic solution
I use this stuff but others have their own favourites

wait for it to semi dry before buffing off with soft cloth , after a good coating any future cleans are just a wipe over with soft cloth

Why not buy a flat hose on a reel and feed it out of the window?

Even if it only reaches the ground it saves carrying full buckets on stairs

I was over there a few weeks ago, had the full support / standing about of PVR, Srhutch, Bing, Perry & Gannet.

All helped remove a lot of my car trim & install an intravee, Dashcam & a CDV removal
