does anyone know what the plastic used on cars in the engine bay is called? the stuff things like thermostat housings and cam covers etc are made of and that are in contact with the engine so need to be able to take the temps involved, not so much the airbox and the like?
alternatively a suitable type of plastic that will take high temp and not deform, absorb moisture etc? so far suggestions have been PEEK, PTFE and glass fibre nylon. peek and ptfe are chuffing expesive when you ask for a 200x150x80 block of it
