Audi TT-RS sounds like it fits the criteria although not sure how the running costs are... Looks good, feels good inside and has a great soundtrack. The TT-S while slower initially can be made very quick indeed with a simple remap and when remaped can in fact keep up with a Z4 M Coupe in a drag race pretty good and the running costs should be much better than the RS.
GT86 is a bit expensive for what you get in my opinion. Unless you plan on hooning out of every 2nd gear turn you will find it boring and slow i think... perhaps with a supercharger kit... hmm...
Porsches will be OK running costs wise until something goes wrong.. Then you should be prepared for major £££.
Maybe a BMW 1M? Not sure how long the bonnet will seem but they're very quick, look good in a thuggish kind of way and running costs are reasonable i believe.
Perhaps go in a different way and get something more characterful but maybe more flawed as a result? A Cobra replica maybe? Loads of character, neck-snapping acceleration, extremely cool looks and because of old tech underpinnings should be cheap to maintain (CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG). Downsides are the fuel economy, there's not any, and the rubbish practicality.
