Emotional Support?

I'm on the verge of buying my first Z4 and I just need some good people to remind me of how lucky I am to have any Z4 at all.
You see, I had my heart set, until recently, on a 2006 3.0si model. My heart broke a few days ago when I realized that my loan limits would only allow me to get an earlier year 3.0i.
I just need someone to reassure me that the 2003-2005 3.0i isn't that much worse than the 2006-2008 3.0si. Anybody have experiences with both?
Thank you all.

I have the 3.0SE (2004) and love it... Yeah, I would love a later year 3.0, or even an "M", but there is no chance of affording it.

In summer, with the roof down, you will enjoy it whatever year it is and whatever model it is :)

Yeah, this is the kind of stuff I need reminding of. It really is a wonderful car regardless.
Does anybody have experience with both that can point out the differences in features and such? I'd like to get it out of my head that I'm getting a sub-standard model.

Also, as an aside, can anyone tell me what the differences are between the face-lift and earlier models? All I can make out is that the lights are different. Maybe I'm just blind... :?

Don't get more than you can afford. If you do then you will enjoy it for a month or so and then the financial burden will begin to wear you down. Plenty of excellent 03-05 3.0 examples out there - just take your time selecting. Link below on basic checks to make before purchase. And dont forget MAKE A SILLY OFFER the seller may just accept!

Nothing wrong with my old 2003 3.0i Aside the money I've spent on mods it doesn't cost me much in depreciation, cheaper to service, insure and tax (UK of course)
Just a great car new or old 2.0 or ///M

In many ways be thanful you can even get a Zed.Of course others have bigger, faster, better cars, but look how many don't and as said above when the roof is down it's awesome.

Take your time. test and drive some. Get the accessories and colour you want and you'll be happy especially thinking of those lower loan payments

late 03 3.0i here... and I feel no reason to change it for the foreseeable future!
Great fun on windy roads, brilliant comfortable cruiser on the long journeys...

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the ride in a 3.0i a little more forgiving than a 3.0si?

There all good and any model from 03 on....
There are a lot of good deals out there. Take your time and find one that has the color and options you want that is within your budget...

Love my 04 3.0 to bits and would not change it for a facelift car as i prefer the styling of the earlier cars :D

no amber in front headlights
different bumpers with different shape front fogs
different rear lights
clear side indicators
erm....

Although not a styling difference the biggest change was the engine, to a later generation. More power than the previous

I have a 2003 Z4 3.0, my mate had a 10 month old Z4 coupe, to be honest there is not much difference other than his cost 3x as much....... I'd rather have the cash myself. Don't loan yourself up, as others have said its not worth it. I'd always rather have a older car and save the money, IMO this is but a newer model is only newer, doesnt always mean its in good condition. Mine has done 75k, but its in very good condition indeed, was really well looked after, everybody is suprised when I tell them the mileage, it feels like half that. Buy on condition rather than age.

I bought my first 3.0 Z4 ( Sept 03) the day it snowed like and couldn't drive it for two weeks! Just been to Newcastle and back in it and wow, what an awsome car. Grinned for over 400 miles and the only things that ache are my face cheeks. Get the best you can "easily" afford.
