OK... so maybe with a little help from Photoshop. :P

But I'm baffled as to why nobody has started any threads on the Olympics. Anybody watching? Favourite sport(s)?

and of course the one performed by someone that is not human

i have a nice big screen tv here at my office that has the olympics channel on the dish network.

it's definitely motivating our select lucky office members!

the wrestling & the weight lifting have been pretty gnarly. now it's usa vs korea in baseball!

but it does tend to go down a bit when it rains like heck here.

That's because I could not care less about the Olympics and I am currently working 85 hours a week trying to get a flight simulator working for the German Air Force.

I have, to my own suprise been watching almost any chance i get.... I try to catch all the not so well known events like batmitten... or handball.... All of the boxing has been horribly and suspiciously scored. And i've watched almost every one of Phelps races.

that phelps guy is quick! the swimming races are great to watch. iono about those table tennis games though. i never would have thought! but hey... iono how they do it... but they hit that s**t real quick & HARD.

and btw...bottom of the 6th and the americans are losing to korea, 4 to 6. blah

I'm enjoying it so far but my favorite is track & field. The men's gymnastics is also incredible. those guys are extremely strong!

Just do a youtube search for new olympics. It's the trojan commercials.....I think it may even be linked already somewheres in this forum.

Hasn't been much interest amongst my friends or colleagues, bit unfair seeing as the UK, US and China are doing fantastically well in the medals haul. A great weekend for the UK will be greatly overshadowed by the fact that Premiership football has returned this weekend. With 2012 being in London the government are very keen for a GB football team to be included, as they reckon this will be a major factor in generating interest for the Olympics.

Medals table

Rank Country Gold Silver Bronze Total
1 China 35 13 13 61
2 USA 19 21 25 65
3 Great Britain 11 6 8 25
4 Germany 9 6 6 21
5 Australia 8 10 11 29
6 Korea 8 9 5 22
7 Japan 8 5 7 20
8 Russia 7 12 12 31
9 Italy 6 6 6 18
10 Ukraine 5 3 6 14

Well actually, I was in the Olympics this week. I am upset that none of you reported seeing me. You would think that at least Rick Hunter would have noticed. The weather was great and the Zed just ran along so nicely. I went all the way up to Hurricane Ridge. :) :poke:

Oh you were talking about the Olympic Games I thought you were talking about the Olympic Mountains here in our neck of the woods. :)

Sorry guys it is Sunday evening and Best Buy fregged up my big screen TV and I am bored. Don’t ever ever ever ever let a Geek Squad dummy even in your home let alone look at your TV. Can you image a TV repair person who does not know how to check the voltage on a power supply? God what do kids do in school these days, eat the books? :x

Geek Squad is strictly minimum wage kids trying to get experience before moving on to a better paying job

I understand that to be true now, but that is not what Best Buy sold me for $465.00. :x

Stay on topic, please.

Anyway, I took in some of the Olympics on TV this weekend. Just amazed about the Jamaicans whooping ass in the 100 metre finals. They didn't even leave any chances for the 2nd place runners.

And I love watching the gymnastics and volleyball tournaments. Reminds me of the good ol' school days when I was semi-athletic.

If you had told me a 6'5" dude could run the 100m that fast and make it look so easy I wouldn't have believed it. That was something special to see. I just wish he had not done the show-boating at the end. He would have cut off at least another .1 second off his time.
