EML

Morning all,

I had an issue yesterday with the EML coming on.

Having been on the Motorway and not having any noticeable effect on performance I carried on driving for about 200 miles.
On my return home I read the code and was surprised to find it being a misfire on cylinder 5. If this was the case surely I would have had performance issues or am I missing something else ?

I cleared the fault code and reset the EML and have had no further occurrences in the morning commute of 100 miles, anyone else had a similar experience or can shed some light on what could be the cause ?

:?

Could have been a momentary coil pack misfire which triggered the light and then cleared itself possibly?
Regards

I had to clear the code through the OBD2 port.

Never had any issues with the engine so was surprised at the code. Thought it could be a low voltage after the car had been stood a week.

About a month ago mine came on on a particularly cold night.

Stayed on for the duration of the drive home but didn't notice anything else untoward.

Had gone out the next day and (touch wood) hasn't been on again since...
