EML Light

Guys,I have a 2007 2.0i roadster, last weekend the EML light and engine management light came on and the car went into limp mode, took it to dealers who had it for three days and told me it was something to do with the variable valve timing they said they had cleared the fault on the computer but said it might happen again, and guess what it happened again today.the thing is if i take it back and they do the same this is not rectifying the fault how do explain to them i want it fixing properly and not get fobbed off. i have warranty with the car and when i asked for a copy of what they had done they told me there was nothing to give me as i was not paying for it. thanks in advance for any help

Quite simply go back to the supplying dealer and ask for rectification - nor merely clearing the fault on the computer!

get the feeling i have been ripped off the dealer rang to say car had to go to bmw dealer to get sorted and as it was a sofware update it is not covered by my warranty, why would a car just needing a software update cause the eml and engine management light to come on and the car to go into limp mode, anyway cost me £120 what a rip off....
