EML Light.

Hi

Just filled up with unleaded.
5 miles down the road the Amber light came on.
Anyone got any idea whats possibly wrong, or if this was caused by the fuel just put in.

You need to get the car scanned for fault codes or it’s just a guessing game. Did you fill up with E5 or E10?

I had the same thing happen to me a few months ago and it turned out to be bad gas. I got the EML and the codes were bank 1 & 2 running lean. I used/drained that tank of gas and refilled at another gas station and the problem went away.

Thanks for the reply,i sort of felt the petrol station was third brand and i had filled up with snake venom.Light came on a few miles after filling up.
Hoping after its used up...i will be buying premium fuel.

Super unleaded is generally considered better as it’s only E5

It could be nothing to do with the fuel.

I once drove literally a mile down the road. Went into the shop. Came out and my power steering was dead.

Completely fine for the literally 2 minutes drive before hand.

Fuel is made to minimum spec. It's very rare that it's bad. It does happen but not as often as you would think.

If you don't have one treat yourself and the car to a code reader always handy to have one to hand just for these occassions and it will save you paying for a garage to diagnose it. Creator 310+ at circa £50 is a good scanner available on ebay and Amazon.

Thank you i will look into this,i have read the scanners obtain the codes which helps diagnose the fault.Thank you again.
