EML, DSC en handbrake light on?

Hello,

A few weeks ago I got this "warning".

DSC00235800x600.jpg

Dealer reset the system, but got it back before I was home that day.

Did anyone experience this also? What was wrong?

this can happen with a faulty wheel sensor.

it happened to me when i changed out a pad sensor and spiked the wheel speed sensor circuit

at the moment the Traction control may/will be disabled.

Okay. The car is very jurky when you give a little bit of trottle some times. It is as if there is air in the petrol-line (sorry, don't know the english term  ).

I had a lot of warning lights and speedo stopped working, BMW thought that was the wheel sensor but turned out to be brake unit (where all the brake pipes meet)

Hi there M-Roadster, i experienced the same problem this morning. Drove my car around the village less than 4 miles today. Suddenly the same lights came on. Any fix yet on yours? Many thanks... 04 2.5

It's happened me as well when playing on a snowy parking lot - turning the DSC on and not using the handbrake when cornering turned off two of my lights!

This has just decided to happen to mine too.

Got in this evening it was fine. Cleaned to car, topped up the oil, went to move the car and the dashboard lit up as you describe like christmas tree. Pain in the ass as the car's out of warranty.

Wonder if its something to do with the excessively cold weather we're having at the moment?

Try a battery off reset (disconnect the negative lead) see if this works first.

Had the same with my zed, reset the wheel sensor and all will be well. Happened when I changed from summer to winter tyres, allways have to reset the system when you do that

Very odd. Got in the car this morning and drove off (with no TC working trust me!), 2 mins later the lights went out and normal service was resumed.

Vey odd indeed. Oh well at least its sorted itself out and no expensive trip to the stealers!

Just had the same problem with mine, more or less. DSC and handbrake light came on when queueing in traffic.

Dealer diagnosed faulty wheel/DSC sensor on offside, repalced both under (extended) warranty, thank god I took that out. £100 excess paid, they told me it would have been in excess of £700 otherwise!!

Hi all,
I have the same lights on my 2004 z4 2.2. The car has only done 24,000 miles. I have had it diagnosed at my local independent and it came up with pressure sensor 5e20 and 5e24. He seems to think the whole DSC system will need replacing and the part alone is £1200 +vat from BMW. I see some of you have reset the wheel sensor, can you tell me what this is and how it has to be reset. Is it the same as the steering angle sensor I have been told this could be the problem too.
All help greatfully apreciated. If I have to pay out over £1200 to fix this car I think I might just have to set fire to it instead. No way I can afford that sort of money.
Cheers
Daz

hi guys had the same on mine to, then the roof stoped working (umm )took it to apac in walsall turnd out to be a sensor under the seat calle the rotional rate sensor i think full of water because of th drain hole blocked up it started to leak in to the car, so id feel for damp under your seats if ther wet it will b that, hope this helps any1 :D
