Emissions Light

My emissions light came on yesterday whilst I was trying to get my car out of the snow, it sounded rough as a badgers ass, so I switched it off and started it again and it was fine although the light is still on.

I take it its the O2 sensor in the CAT thats causing the issue. Problem is I can't get the car out of the snow to try and clear it.

How easy and how much are these to replace?

Any help please. :|

Took it to a garage today who advised that it was misfiring on cylinder 3&5 they changed the coils and a brand new set of plugs, the light went off for 4 hours and now back on again when I restarted the car.

Bit pissed off as it cost me £180 for diagnostic, plugs and two coils.

No other faults registered on the machine.

I am having the same problem - see my posting under Engine Warning Light.

They are telling me I need a new cat + 4 oxy sensors (£1100) and they acnnot gaurantee that it will fix the problem - what a joke!

Remove your gas cap and put it back on taking care to ensure that it is tight. If the gas cap is not tightened properly it will cause the "check engine" light to come on.

It cleared then came back on again, then off, car seems to struggle to keep constant revs when it comes on.
