'if you can't beat 'em , join 'em!'

facelift lights are much better looking than the old amber lensed light but as we pre-face lift owners know, theyre either expensive or hard work to 'create' and install......

So in an attempt to integrate the the amber into my black on black zed, ive decided i need to use orange an accent colour. I saw this orange leather gearshift boot and handbrake cover on ebay and now feel like the Orangitis is about to strike...... Another benefit of orange, to me, is that i know its def an acquired taste

What other subtle orange highlights can you suggest?

I like your thinking! I've never embraced the whole stubby thing, so perhaps we can start a pro-tango movement

Steering wheel stitching?
Rollbar covers?
Wheel centres?
Wing mirrors?
Steering wheel spokes?
Grille slats?
Seat colour? (oops, I meant yellow!)

I think I've gone a bit off the "subtle" part of that...

Steering wheel stitching? YEAH, I LOVE THIS IDEA
Rollbar covers? NEED THESE TO STAY GREY TO TIE IN WITH NEW GREY GRILLES
Wheel centres? I HAVE ONE PIECE RIMS
Wing mirrors? POSSIBLY AN ORANGE DECAL WOULD WORK :)
Steering wheel spokes? GREAT IDEA
Grille slats? ERM, PROB NOT
Seat colour? (oops, I meant yellow!) I WOULD LOVE THAT BUT TOO EXPENSIVE

Ah, by wheel centres I meant wheel badges! That could be extended across the whole car though I guess.

And brake calipers, can't believe I forgot to mention them.

I've had thoughts about "yellowing" my car to tie in with my interior but I'm really not sure about adding anything yellow-related to the exterior...

ah i see what you mean now. orange calipers is perfect example of what im looking for - quick, easy and cheap :)

have thought about wheel and body badges prev and was thinking of replacing blue on the bmw roundels with orange. Would just need to find someone who can do it for me.

It does depend on car colour but I think the Ambers look very much at home on the car. I have grown to love the look on Sterling Grey.

In fact, how about this for a mod. Someone with post facelift swapping their Clears for Ambers.

after spending the afternoon considering the options for tango-fying other parts, i think im gonna settle on orange calipers to go behind the newly purchased (soon to be black) style 230s, orange stitched steering wheel (looking quite expensive though) and prob the most controversial - orange pin stripe acroess the uppermost edge of the bootlid. Will try it with an orange 'go faster stripe' off ebay before potentially painting! Should link the front to the side to the rear, and bring a little to the interior.

Brave man! Good to hear something different though and if it's crap then at least you've tried :)

Didn't know you were planning on black for the wheels - that'll be pretty mental teamed up with orange calipers...
