Embarrassing interlude on escalator

There we were going up the escalator at Waterloo this afternoon with our bags and suitcases ( !st mistake - if you have suitcases use the lift ! ) - wife in front of me - loses her footing , falls backwards and takes me with her - we both end up upside down with the escalator still going - after what seems like a lifetime someone manages to press the emergency button and we're helped up by two blue elves who were at the bottom collecting for charity ! No real damage done other than a few cuts and bruises including a loss of pride and a broken suitcase handle !

Oh no that's awful. Hope you weren't hurt. That could have resulted in some serious injuries. Surprised that your fall wasn't cushioned by the throng of people on the escalator behind you as is the usual case at Waterloo.

Fortunately it was the shorter one leading up to Waterloo East - yes did think of asking for the CCTV footage - was even funnier because the two elves were quite small ( perhaps they were real elves ) and I'm 6'7" weighing in at 15 stone.

That is what you get when those islanders arrive in the big world. Guess they don't have elevators in the I.O.W? :poke:

It could have been a whole domino tumble of people. Glad you're both OK and now that we do know that...

Good effort for posting this thread
